LOVI POE's Mom Against Love affair Between Her Daughter and JOLO REVILLA

Photobucket
Text messages reported that Lovi Poe's mother stormed the last shooting days of Kaputol Ng Isang Awit yesterday May 27, 2008 and confronted Jolo Revilla against the love affair between her daughter and him. This wasn't the first confrontation, during the taping of Maynila, Rowena (Lovi's mom) made a scene and told Jolo to stay away from her daughter even with the presence of Lani Mercado and Bong Revilla, Jolo's celebrity parents. More detail can be read on PEP.

I can't help but to ironically 'odd think' that Jolo Revilla's grandfather Ramon Revilla Sr. and Lovi Poe's dad FPJ were once mortal enemies in the movie called 'IYO ANG TONDO, KANYA ANG CAVITE' which was released in 1986.

JOHN TRAVOLTA's New Image : ODD Thinking With The Movies Update ( Part 5 )

John Travolta has a new image today, but first let's rewind to 'Saturday Night Fever' circa 1977.

Here are some snapshots I made from the movie 'Saturday Night Fever' , John Travolta as Tony Manero worries too much about his hairline becoming thinned.

Photobucket
'you think I'm losin' my hair ?'

Photobucket
'it looks awful thin right over here and here'

and now (May 2008), his hair has indeedy thinned out looking like the top of Bruce Willis !

Photobucket

It was said that his new image and 'Bruce Willis' hairdo is part of Travolta's new movie called "The Taking of Pelham 123"

it's in Yahoo! today

ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES (Part 4)

Here's John Travolta as Tony Manero in the movie 'Saturday Night Fever'

in the snapshots (below), Tony worries too much about his hairline becoming thinned.

and that was in 1977.

28 years later, John Travolta as seen in the movie BE COOL (2005) has a receding hairline.

Also a snapshot (below) from the movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (1977), take note of a ROCKY poster displayed in Tony Manero's (John Travolta) room.

Photobucket

Sylvester Stallone (star of ROCKY) must have enjoyed seeing his 'Rocky' poster displayed in Saturday Night Fever he decided to direct the 'Saturday Night Fever' sequel STAYING ALIVE (1983).

Photobucket
'Staying Alive', a film directed by Sylvester Stallone

n fact Sylvester Stallone appeared in a cameo in STAYING ALIVE as a pedestrian who accidentally bumped Tony Manero (John Travolta) on the streets.

INDIANA JONES and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Photobucket

I gotta have one of these 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' poster.

I first saw 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' in 1981 at the Makati Cinema Square in Makati city, Philippines with my ex-girlfriend. I was awestruck with the iconic character...a rough and tumble adventure kind of guy, the man with the battered hat.

I also remember watching the 2nd part 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' (1984), which actually took place a year before 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' ! Steven Spielberg is a genius. Saw the film numerous times in different dates in the theater. So far, this is my favorite Indy film because of its dark mood settings. There weren't any CGI effects in those days and the SFX guys at ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) have devised innovative ways to tell the story. Remember the mine car chase inside the mine shaft tunnel ? I remember we rode the 'Indiana Jones Adventure Ride' of Disneyland in Anaheim in 2003...that was a thrilling roller coaster ride complete with the big boulder from 'Raiders' !

'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' (1988) was also a thrill to see specially Sean Connery portraying a different role, a far cry from the suave days of James Bond.

I can't wait to see the 4th installment 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' to be shown on May 22, 2008...malapit na, isang buwan na lang. Here's the trailer...

Here's another ODD THINKING WITH MOVIES for you...

Photobucket

snapshot here shows the late RIVER PHOENIX playing a young Indiana Jones in the 3rd Indy film 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'

Photobucket

young Indy (River Phoenix) struck his whip to force back an attacking lion but instead slicing up his chin.....

Photobucket

...thus explaining how the adult Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) got his scar on his chin.

Photobucket

this is a snapshot from the film 'The MOSQUITO COAST', a Peter Weir film. River Phoenix played the son of Harrison Ford in the film. In ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES.....Indiana Jones played both father and son in 'The Mosquito Coast'

ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES

I've been posting 'ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES' for quite some time now and I have posted this on several board forums but somehow some know-it-all moderators seem to delete it for reason I don't know what. Some posters have replied to it and have contributed with amazing thoughts.

Here's how it goes...you think of movies, that's right! movies of any kind, movies of any genre...then you find a way to connect one particular movie with another movie. that's it. it's that SIMPLE.

okay let me start.....

remember the JOHN TRAVOLTA movie "Look Who's Talkin" ? it's a 1989 film. Mikey (John Travolta's son in the movie) was voiced by BRUCE WILLIS therefore BRUCE WILLIS is TRAVOLTA's son right?.
Now, set your thinking with the movie PULP FICTION, quentin tarantado...este tarantino's cult film which made john travolta a top star once again after a string of flops. in PULP FICTION, BRUCE WILLIS shot and killed JOHN TRAVOLTA which, in odd thinking, Bruce Willis killed his own dad !!

it's fun, right ?

here are my collections of 'ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES'

*******************************

Marlon Brando played Don Vito Corleone in 'The Godfather' (1972)

while Robert de Niro played the young Vito Corleone in 'The Godfather Part II' (1974).

Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro were casts back together again in one film, THE SCORE (2001). Both Brando and De Niro played Vito Corleone, a different generation of Vito Corleone can't occupy the same space at the same time.

*************************

here's another one:

This is the famous pose by John Travolta seen in many of the 'Saturday Night Fever' posters. Saturday Night Fever released in 1977.

Now look at this snapshot (done by yours truly) from the 1978 film GREASE

John Travolta seems to be doing the same pose as seen in the posters of 'Saturday Night Fever'. It seems that he hasn't gotten over with his Tony Manero role yet when he was doing 'Grease'

That's another ODD THINKING WITH THE MOVIES for you.
