We saw THOR (2011) in 3D at a Digital Theater, SM Mall of Asia April 29, 2011 Friday. I have been reading the Mighty Thor comic books when I was in the 3rd grade and it was a thrill to see the endearing characters from my childhood sprung to life in this Kenneth Branagh film. Chris Hemsworth (father of James T. Kirk in 'Star Trek' 2009) is born to be the God of Thunder, he is physically perfect as the Mighty Thor/Donald Blake with much bravado, arrogance and tenderness. Anthony Hopkins perfectly as the withered and wisened Odin. Tom Hiddleston perfectly cast as the supervillain Loki with intensity and sadness to the portrayal. I never liked Natalie Portman specially her Padme Amadala role in the Star Wars prequels but surprisingly she gets to play Jane Foster with the right touch and charm to the role. The film is a perfect blend of action, humor and wit other than the exciting visual treat and eye candies. The realm of Asgard is one of the best visual designs I have seen. Stan Lee makes another cameo here. As usual, as seen in some Marvel films, don't get out of the theater after the credits rolled out, you'll get another sequence which is a prelude to the next chapter of Thor along with THE AVENGERS. Great movies for the summer ! My ratings: a huge 5 out of 5 Biscuits !
Jane Foster, the love interest of Thor, is a nurse in the comics while Jane Foster is an archeologist in the movie. Thor aka Donald Blake has a cane and when tapped against the floor it'll turn into the Mjolnir hammer and Blake becomes Thor while in the movie version there's no cane. Donald Blake is a doctor in the comics while he is disguised as an archeologist in the movie. Pathway to Asgard is by means of a rainbow bridge in the comics, in the movie the bridge is made up of transparent bricks with illuminating colors.

As I always say in my previous bloggings, not only does Manny have the physical appearance of a Bruce Lee but also the prowess and the agility of a Bruce Lee that got Manny the many belts he have earned. It’s confirmed: Filipino international pop singer Charice is in the cast of a new movie, the action-comedy “Here Comes the Boom!” starring Salma Hayek, Kevin James and Henry Winkler, among others.
“Yes, you can check the online link,” said Grace Mendoza, Charice’s Philippine manager, when the Philippine Daily Inquirer called her office this Wednesday morning.
According to the website IMDb.com (Internet Movie Database), the movie – about a music teacher who is forced to moonlight as a mixed martial arts fighter in the hopes of saving his school’s music program – is currently in production and scheduled for release in July 2012.
This marks the first time that the 18-year-old Charice will play a character, Malia.
In her debut appearance in a Hollywood film, the 2009 live-action cartoon adaptation “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” Charice played herself in a cameo role.
“Here Comes the Boom!” is directed by Frank Coraci, whose recent credits include “The Wedding Singer,” “The Waterboy,” “Around the World in 80 Days” and “Click.”
The Mexico-born Hayek has starred in a number of films including “Desperado,” “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “Frida” – for which she received an Oscar best actress nomination.
James had a recurring role in the TV sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond." He has since acted in his own sitcom, "The King of Queens."
Winkler, most famous for his role as The Fonz in the hit 1970s TV show “Happy Days,” was also in the cast of “The Waterboy,” among other movie credits.
