DCRJ's MOVIE REVIEWS in Snippets (Feb. 23, 2010 to Feb. 25, 2010)

I just finished watching OLD DOGS (2009). Another movie that made my after lunch break moment a disaster. Although it has some few good laughs the film made John Travolta and Robin Williams a disgrace in Hollywood. I am tired of movies with physical comedies that once entertained me when I was 7 years old. Forget this film, even with an old Ann Margret cameo wouldn't save this flick. My ratings : 0.1 out of 5 Biscuits !

I just finished watching THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS (2009). Amusing movie with lots of movie references..Silence of the Goats? (lambs) hahaha. Amusing to watch Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan in Star Wars) referred as a 'Jedi' by George Clooney. Entertaining, witty, looney and ridiculously fun film. My ratings: 4.5 out of 5 Biscuits. Cool to hear 'More Than A Feeling' by the Boston in the film. BTW, Stephen Lang of AVATAR also stereotypically appeared in the film as a Brigadier General. Major characters played a comic book character in one point of their movie careers, George Clooney (the nippled Batman), Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor of Superman Returns), Jeff Bridges (Iron Monger from Iron Man) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2). George Clooney still bops his head sideways in this film as seen in ALL of his movies! hee!

I just finished watching THE BOX (2009) starring Cameron Diaz and Cyclops himself James Marsden (from X-Men). Frank Langella as the disfigured face dude who gave THE BOX to a suburban couple (James and Cameron, no not James Cameron you *$%^*), once the button on the box is pushed someone they don't know will die and they get $1M. Now the story becomes a mess after this and gets entangled along the way. The story is as stupid as it gets. Another waste of a good after-lunch break moment for me. Forget about this film. My ratings: 0.1 out of 5 Biscuits!. BTW, Frank Langella played Perry White in SUPERMAN RETURNS while James Marsden played Richard White, Perry's son, also in Superman Returns hehehe.

FREDDIE ROACH Got the Colds, Took Day Off from PACQUIAO Training for CLOTTEY Fight Feb 23, 2010

Manny Pacquaio suffered left leg pains known as shin splints the other day and now it's his trainer Freddie Roach who got the colds. Buboy Fernandez, Manny's childhood friend, is the assistant coach thus substituted Roach for the day.

DCRJ's MOVIE REVIEWS in Snippets (Feb. 18, 2010 to Feb. 22, 2010)

I just finished watching CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS (2009). The animated film's story is absurd just like its title but it's a good fun movie full of hilarious slapsticks and cool visuals. It's the only movie where you can see those tasty Gummy Bears so hilariously menacing. Should be seen in 3D theaters ! My ratings: 4 out of 5 Biscuits !



I just finished watching CRAZY HEART (2009). One of Jeff Bridges' finest performances. I fondly remember his great acting in 'Starman' way back in the 80s. Crazy Heart tells the story of Bad Blake, a washed-up country singer and an alcoholic. Great country music. My bet is on Jeff Bridges to win the Best Actor award in the upcoming Oscar Awards ! The film also reminded me of 'Tender Mercies' starring Robert Duvall, incidentally...Robert Duvall is in Crazy Heart and the producer of the film. My ratings: 4.5 out of 5 Biscuits

I just finished watching LEGION (2010). Hordes of Angels set to bring on the Apocalypse to mankind. One of the lamest and stupidest movie to come along. It's full of heartless characters and irrational actions that would make any lazy afternoon a terrible waste of time. Dennis Quaid overacts and Paul Bettany (Da Vinci Code) is the good guy or angel. My ratings: 1 out of 5 Biscuits ! Crap !

I just finished watching HACHIKO: A DOG'S STORY (2009) starring Richard Gere. A true-to-life story of Hachiko the dog who waited for his deceased master at the train station. Amazing story and a touching one too. If you love dogs go watch this unique film. Amusing to see Jason Alexander with Richard Gere again in this movie, both of them were characters in Pretty Woman (1990). My ratings: 4.5 out of 5 Biscuits !

I just finished watching 'THE UGLY TRUTH'. Gerard Butler can play a romantic lead out of his stereotypical roles (300/Law Abiding Citizen/Gamer) and Katherine Heigl is enchantingly charming. They got chemistry on-screen in this romantic comedy with vulgarity in dialogs. It's offensively fun and a delight to watch. My rating: 3.5 out of 5 Biscuits !

I just finished watching EDGE OF DARKNESS (2010). Overlong and boring at the start but finds its way to a thrill in gritty violence at the end with vintage Mel Gibson as a 'Mad Max' avenging his daughter's death. My rating: 3.5 out of 5 Biscuits !

I just finished watching THE SPY NEXT DOOR (2010). Jackie Chan in another Hollywood flick as a former CIA agent looking after his girlfriend's three kids. Story is a bore and the film was obviously made for kids who are addicted to the cartoon network. Avoid this film if you are a grown-up or unless you're still a kid with diapers ! *vomit. My ratings 0.1 out of 5 Biscuits !
