I saw IP MAN 2 (2010) in bootleg DVD format (Chinese version), it's the continuing story of Ip Man, grandmaster of Wing Chun martial arts, with Donnie Yen reprising the lead role.
Entertaining flick with martial arts choreography done by Sammo Hung (Bruce Lee's sparring opponent in 'Enter The Dragon' and US TV's Martial Law).
The scene where Ip Man was challenged by Kung Fu masters to allow Ip Man's martial arts teachings parallels Bruce Lee's real-life situation in Oakland, California when Lee was challenged by a 'master' for Lee to earn the right to teach non-Chinese students the martial art of Jeet Kun Do.
Ip Man's story, of course, is glorified for cinematic purposes but eventually gave us an insight on Bruce Lee's teacher.
Amusing to see little Bruce Lee (played by a look-alike kid) at the end of the film complete with Lee's cockiness. It's looks like there will be an Ip Man 3 which would focus on the Ip Man and Bruce Lee relationship. Being a die-hard Bruce Lee fanatic, I am looking and hoping for the third part soon !
My Ratings: 4.5 out of 5 Biscuits !
