For the third time, boxing champion Manny Pacquiao appeared on the
late night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
This time he brought a singing partner, comedian and Pacquiao fan Will Farrell. The two sang the John Lennon classic, “Imagine.”
The superstar boxer talked to Kimmel about his new venture into politics, his upcoming fight against Antonio Margarito, and even his new cologne called MP 7.
“It smells like a fist,” joked Kimmel. Pacquiao explained, “MP 7, it’s 7 world titles.”
“So will there be n MP 8 when you win the fight on November 13?” responded Kimmel.
Pacquiao answered back, “That’s another brand.”
Kimmel joked with the Pacman about becoming a Filipino citizen, “My colleague he filed a bill to make Freddie Roach a citizen,” explianed the Sarangani Congressman.
“So it’s a bill, can I get in on that so I can be a Filipino citizen? Remember you’re a
politician so they never lie,” asked Kimmel.
“I’m not saying yes but maybe,” Pacquio said smiling.
Filipinos in the crowd said they had good laughs and enjoyed the Pacman’s sense of humor. Luigi Barano had no idea that Pacquiao would be a guest when he won the tickets. He got to chat with Kimmel before the show about the Philippines.
“It was good he’s a funny guy, put me on the spot,” recalled Barano.
The celebrity of the Pacman continues to grow. Jigs Tambong and his family were able to attend the show as well. They’ve been following Pacquiao for several years. Taking pictures and getting autographs.
“He’s a lot more elusive because of his popularity. It’s a lot tougher now to get the autographs. There’s a lot more following,” said Tambong.
For fans, this latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live is a testament to the continuing popularity of the Filipino ring idol.
