If you happen to notice that you are getting addicted to a popular social network site called Facebook then think again, the Philippines now ranked as #10 among top ten users of Facebook in the world. And that's not counting the millions of Filipinos living outside of the Philippines. There are currently 6,991,040 Filipino users of Facebook as of March 2010 and is still growing over the past week.

Facebook is a social networking site (SNS) that was created as a ““social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, family and coworkers,” among others. It now has the most number of users worldwide, as well as in the Philippines. Last year, it accounted as much as 6 million Filipino users (www.checkfacebook.com). Indeed, Facebook is the newest “in” after MySpace, Friendster and Multiply. Facebook has gone a long way after its launch in 2004 by a group of college students in Harvard University.
