DCRJ's Movie Reviews : THE INCREDIBLE HULK

We just watched the movie at Cinema 1 SM Megamall in Pasig city. The reason why we were at Megamall instead of our usual movie stop which is the SM Mall of Asia is because of the Toy Con 2008 (7th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention 2008). Anyways, I was in awed from beginning to end with the new makeover of the new Hulk film installed with a new casts.

This is everything that the Hulk should be, better plot than the Ang Lee film, better Bruce Banner courtesy of Edward Norton than the Bruce Banner played by stoic faced Eric Bana, more intensity in action than the Ang Lee film. Edward Norton nailed this Bruce Banner character right into the very soul, he's absolutely perfect to play the part. Liv Tyler as Dr. Elizabeth Ross played the part perfectly with such emotion giving the Hulk character such tenderness and sensitivity...sort of like King Kong getting tamed if there's beauty (a woman) around him.

As expected, Stan Lee made another cameo in the movie as he also did in almost every Marvel movies. A glimpse of the late Bill Bixby was also seen in a TV show in the movie (Bill Bixby played Bruce Banner in TV's Hulk in the 1970s, his famous and unforgettable line 'Mr Mcgee, don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry'). Another cameo by Lou Ferrigno as a security guard again as also seen in the Ang Lee film (Lou Ferrigno was the TV Hulk).

Amazing to see Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark recruiting members for his team in the ending of the movie giving bright prospect for a 'SHIELD Ultimate Alliance' movie in the future...the appearance of Tony Stark gave the Hulk movie a connection with the film IRON MAN which is still currently showing, a connection shown in IRON MAN when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits Tony Stark to be a member of his SHIELD team at the end credits in the IRON MAN film...opps ! The Incredible Hulk is one of the better super hero movie in this side of the planet. With the Incredible Hulk establishes the Marvel universe even more in the movies what else could go wrong with a Captain America or a Mighty Thor movie in the future? let's bring those Marvel heroes to the big screen with more Stan Lee cameos! BTW, what ever happened to Stan Lee after he drank the Brazilian juice with Banner's blood might pave the way for a new villain in the future, who knows ?

Biscuit Ratings : 5/5
