Disappointing RP Contingent in Beijing Olympics Led to Wishes For CAPTAIN BARBELL, DYESEBEL, PALOS & LASTIKMAN

If there's one consolation for the RP Contingent's disappointing performance at the Beijing Olympics, it's the amusing wishes from the smart alecs to send ABS-CBN and GMA-7's Super-Duper heroes to the next Olympics, the London 2010 Olympics.

"No medal again. Wala na naman nakuha sa Olympics. OK, let’s call for the resignation of the head of the Philippine Olympic Committee. Let’s not entrust our athletes with the government. Let’s trust ABS-CBN and GMA-7 instead. For the Olympics, padala nila si: CAPT. I'd say if ever we send CAPTAIN BARBELL to the London 2010 Olympics, the U.S. will surely send SUPERMAN



That's how Filipinos cope for their woes, always make 'em funny until the last sad man laughs. And it's always the Pacman to the rescue, no not the video game gobbler but the real super hero dude Manny Pacquiao. After the disappointing performance of boxer Harry Tañamor in Beijing Manny offered a helping hand to the National Amateur Boxing comittee headed by Manny Lopez.

I just hope that the leaders would really deal with the ills of RP sports, it only goes to show how often the Filipino athletes, if there are any, been neglected for so many years.
