I have posted here an article with the title 'Philippines: Sick Man of Asia at the Beijing 2008 Olympics (IF MARIE ANTOINETTE RIVERO LOSES)'. Well, there you have it, Marie Antoinette Rivero loss. I have justified the title. Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and other neighboring countries of the Philippines managed to earn Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. It's now right to say that the Philippines is again the Sick Man of Asia at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, hard to accept but the truth really hurts. Marie Antoinette Rivero, who's the Philippines last woman standing and last hope to bring home the elusive Gold medal, loses to Sandra Saric of Croatia in the Taekwondo-Women’s -67kg first round.
Who's really to blame for the Philippine contingent's disappointing performance ? Was it the delusional advertisements and news ads that portrayed and over-exposed the Philippine athletes as great performers ? Do we have to blame the energy drink MILO as seen on TV ? Was it the Philippine government to be blame for not giving proper funds to the different sports committee ? Was it the ills of the leaders and trainers of the contingent ? Shall we blame the bozos who have chosen which athlete gets to compete in the Olympics ? Should we let the same losers compete again in the London 2010 Olympics ? Who would greet them when the RP contingent arrives home at the airport ? I wonder what the whole RP contingent are feeling right now ? I wonder why Inquirer.Net hasn't updated their 'breaking news' updates on Rivero's loss at this moment ? I also wonder why I bother to type this article in the first place...huhuhuhu. Tawagin na lang natin sina Captain Barbell, Dyesebel, Lastikman, Palos, Asero, Darna, Enteng Kabisote or even the whole of Encantadia or Etheria or even the whole of the Mulawin clan to compete in the London 2012 Olympics !

I was just checking for updates on how Rivera fared in the event. I have also been following our athletes in their bid to bring home a medal. Now hearing that she lost, what an upset. I thought she'll fare better considering that she landed fifth in the last Olympics. Oh well, 2012 then?
